New Bedford Guide reported on a shooting incident at Monte’s Park in New Bedford, Massachusetts, which left six adults injured. The New Bedford Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation at approximately 1 AM. Three victims with gunshot wounds were found at the scene and transported to the hospital, while three additional victims arrived at the hospital on their own. Mayor Jon Mitchell released a statement calling the shooting a brazen act of violence. “While we are relieved that no one was seriously injured, we will not sit idly by in the face of threats to public safety. … We will track down those responsible and hold them accountable…”
