Gang member sentenced to 8 years after shooting that damaged several homes

A known felon and gang member in Wilmington, NC was sentenced to 8 years in prison, thanks to ShotSpotter. Responding to a precise alert, Wilmington Police identified both empty shell casings and property damage at the scene, as well as a vehicle used in the shooting. Locating that same vehicle the following day, police were able to make an arrest, while also recovering two illegal firearms. Identified as a member of the Blood street gang, the man faces eight years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm by a felon.
