Received a complaint of a sexual assault that occurred eleven years ago. Having only an old phone number and vague details about the suspect, I was able to use CrimeTracer to identify the suspect and link him to other victims.

While conducting pre-employment background investigations, we utilize numerous tools to verify the honesty of the applicants. One candidate was less-than-honest about his criminal involvement in another state. While the offenses didn’t show in a criminal history or through other search tools used to vet applicants, CrimeTracer located police reports indicating that the applicant had been accused of significant, heinous crimes against children. This opened up a new avenue for investigation that had been missed by at least two previous LE agencies for employment. It showed a pattern of behavior inconsistent with employment in LE. Fortunately, it allowed us to disqualify the candidate before he moved into a position of trust as a peace officer, and it has also provided information that, much later, prevented him from employment in public school districts as well. Without access to other agency reports through the simple search, this predator might have new and unfettered access to commit additional crimes with a badge.

Needed to locate an individual, and all I had was a first and last name from an OSHA report. I did a generic search of the name and used the map to target a specific region. Via that filter, I was able to get a hit for a report associated with the individual’s boss. He ended up being a witness to an incident involving his boss, and the local PD took down his phone number, and I was able to contact him then. I would have never been able to find him otherwise!
