Pro Tools|HD 1 systems support up to 96 simultaneous audio tracks with no stress on the computer. With the capacity and power to run sessions this large, you'll be able to complete your largest projects with ease.

In conjunction with 192 I/O and 96 I/O audio interfaces, three new peripheral options are also available for Pro Tools|HD. SYNC I/O™ is the new, versatile synchronization device for Pro Tools|HD, supporting all industry-standard clock sources and time-code formats. PRE is a new, remote-controllable 8-channel mic preamp option designed specifically for the HD environment, offering a host of features and an overall superior solution for getting the highest signals possible into your HD audio interfaces or any other recording/mixing medium. Finally, MIDI I/O™ is the new, USB-powered, multi-channel MIDI interface for Pro Tools|HD, offering users 10 MIDI I/O ports and support for Digidesign Time-Stamping** for unprecedented timing accuracy.

With the versatility of the system, and the wide range of options available from Digidesign and Development Partners, Pro Tools|HD is the most comprehensive solution for audio production — allowing every aspect of the audio creation process to take place within a single, integrated environment.

As with previous professional Pro Tools systems, Pro Tools|HD is modular in nature, allowing you to add more dedicated processing power and I/O capacity as your needs dictate. Pro Tools|HD systems support up to 7 HD cards (1 HD Core™ and 6 HD Process™ cards) and an I/O count of up to 96 channels.

Behind Pro Tools|HD's ability to handle such large mixing configurations lays TDM II, Digidesign's new bus architecture. More than offering twice the number of timeslots of MIX systems, TDM II actually features a completely redesigned architecture, making much more efficient use of the TDM timeslots.

With Pro Tools|HD comes the introduction of our new DigiLink™ interface standard. The lightweight DigiLink cables provide connectivity between HD audio interfaces and HD Core and HD Process cards at lengths of up to 100 feet (100-foot DigiLink cable supports up to 96 kHz sample rates). DigiLink cables are also used to daisy-chain 192 I/O and 96 I/O units.

As with all Pro Tools systems, a wide range of options from Digidesign and Development Partners are available for the Pro Tools|HD environment. From tactile control surfaces like ProControl^® to effects plug-ins, custom-built consoles to rack-mountable storage devices, everything you need to augment the Pro Tools environment is at your disposal.

Pro Tools|HD systems will allow you to easily interface with older Pro Tools systems. Pro Tools|HD offers full session compatibility with systems running Pro Tools 5.1 software or higher; Pro Tools|HD also opens all older Pro Tools sessions.
