content of your own film and video projects.
With DV Toolkit, you're able to open up a project file (OMF or AAF)
from applications such as Avid's Xpress DV on either your Windows
XP- or Mac OS X-based Pro Tools LE system, record new audio such
as voice-over and Foley (sound effects you create after the fact),
clean up unwanted existing audio such as background noise, replace
audio such as compromised on-camera dialog, and even add your own
soundtracks. Quality audio is crucial to good film — DV Toolkit
complements Pro Tools LE's acclaimed standard feature set to give
you full control over the big picture.
All of this is made possible by two primary DV Toolkit features:
Time Code functions and specialized software. Time Code functions
enable you to edit to picture with timecode accuracy. As for specialized
software, DigiTranslator 2.0 handles the OMF and AAF exchanges,
Synchro Arts' VocALign Project enables you to repair compromised
on-camera dialog, and Digidesign's DINR AudioSuite plug-in takes
care of unwanted noise.

Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack feature eight channels of analog I/O
(with four mic pres), ten channels of digital I/O, and built-in
MIDI I/O. Additionally, the Digi 002 includes an integrated control
surface with eight touch-sensitive motorized faders and eight motion-sensitive
rotary encoders. The Digi 002 Rack includes the same I/O capabilities
as Digi 002, but in a 2U enclosure without the control surface.
